Namibia
Sand, sand, sand, oryx. That about sums up any visit to Namibia. With an uber cool thing to do here and there, of course!
Namibia is one of the few African countries that you can safely visit on your own, as long as you're comfortable with lots and lots of driving—offroading in the desert, with wild animals on every turn (there are no turns). Luckily, you can get your R&R in some pretty snazzy lodges (with wild animals right outside your window).
Don’t miss Swakopmund, the country’s adventure hub, Etosha National Park safari, or the impressive Fish River Canyon in the south. And yes, I’ll also tell you where you can see those iconic skeleton trees.
